But that version does not officially exist. Tom Holland has not been cast as Tintin, and there is no confirmed live-action reboot currently being developed. What is real is the long-awaited continuation of Steven Spielberg’s 2011 The Adventures of Tintin. Peter Jackson confirmed in 2026 that he and Fran Walsh finished a script for the next Tintin film and that he plans to direct it. That project is still connected to the original motion-capture movie, where Jamie Bell played Tintin and Andy Serkis played Captain Haddock. No filming date, release date, or final returning cast has been officially announced yet. The Mystery Comes Alive is just the title for this live-action concept. This video imagines a completely different version of Tintin, with Tom Holland stepping into the role of the young reporter while Andy Serkis returns as Captain Haddock in a realistic live-action adventure. The mystery, globe-trotting locations, hidden clues, and dangerous treasure hunt all come from the kind of world Tintin is known for, but the casting and live-action approach here are purely fan-made. This is an unofficial live-action Tintin concept. Tom Holland has not been announced as Tintin, and it should not be confused with Peter Jackson’s real upcoming sequel to the 2011 film.
